HomeAid Northern Virginia, Builder Captain K. Hovnanian Homes and Alexandrians InVolved Ecumenically! (ALIVE!) will kick off the renovation of the ALIVE! House in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. This is K. Hovnanian Home’s second HomeAid Northern Virginia project.

Why: Established in 1972, the ALIVE! House is the oldest continuously operated shelter for women and families in Northern Virginia. In addition to safe temporary housing, ALIVE! House provides residents with intensive in-house case management as well as supportive services and resource referrals through community partnerships to assist them in achieving their goals of self-sufficiency and permanent housing – all done in a nurturing home-like atmosphere.
