Shelter House, Artemis, 2015

Builder Captain: Van Metre Homes, VM Home Solutions, and Home Design Elements

Excitement is buzzing at Artemis House’s emergency shelter as the finishing touches on so many great improvements. Thanks to Van Metre Homes, VM Home Solutions, and Home Design Elements and  16 trade partners for donating almost 100% of the materials and services necessary to renovate Artemis House’s emergency shelter for Shelter House, an organization provides crisis intervention, safe housing and supportive services to promote self-sufficiency for homeless families and victims of domestic violence in Fairfax County. Their expansive renovation was completed over the course of two months and included so many great improvements including building two bedrooms with a full bathroom in the basement, knocking down an upstairs wall to group two very small rooms into one family sized room, updating all the bathrooms with tile floors and a granite vanity, replacing carpet, installing hardwood floors and security cameras, putting in all new appliances, and much much more!

Thanks to Builder Captain Van Metre HomesVM Home Solutions, and Home Design Elements for leading the project  and to all of the following trade partners for investing in Artemis House and its residents!

A special thank you to MASCO Corporation Foundation for their generous financial contribution to this project.
